Agent status

Know when it needs you.

One-click hooks for Claude Code, Codex, Grok, Cursor, Gemini and Kiro turn every pane into a status light — no config files, no wrappers.

Working / needs you / done

Each pane shows what its agent is doing: running, waiting for your permission or reply, finished, or failed.

Across every workspace

The workspace rail surfaces which project wants attention, so you can run agents in parallel and answer the one that's blocked.

Panes that outlive the layout

Sessions live outside the window chrome — split, move or detach a pane to its own window and the agent keeps running.

macOS · Windows · Linux

Native on every desktop.

Not a port, not a wrapper. Each OS gets its own GPU surface, its own conventions — and the exact same workspace.

macOS

GhosttyKit · Metal

Panes are real Ghostty surfaces rendered with Metal, behind system traffic lights and native menus. Developer-ID signed and notarized.

macOS 15+ · Apple Silicon & Intel

Windows

WGL under transparent WebView2

Native GPU terminal surfaces composed beneath a fully transparent WebView2 — the interface floats above real terminal pixels. ConPTY with PowerShell 7, kitty keyboard protocol included.

Windows 11 · x64

Linux

GTK compositor · Wayland-safe

Client-side decorations the way your desktop draws them — window buttons in YOUR layout, PRIMARY selection, middle-click paste, bracketed paste. A first-class citizen, not a target.

AppImage & deb · glibc 2.35+

Under the hood

Ghostty's engine. Everywhere.

Ghostty's terminal core is the best in the business. We embedded it under our own GPU renderers on every OS — as far as we know, Linea is the first app to ship Ghostty's engine in one codebase across macOS, Windows and Linux.

Hybrid where it helps — one interface, shipped three times a week. Native where it matters — your terminal never touches a DOM node.

Git & pull requests

Review the agent's work.

Live branch and change counts on every workspace — and the branch's pull request, reviewable in a pane.

Linea reviewing a pull request beside the terminal: the diff of the branch with a line comment being written

Live change radar

Branch and +/− line counts sit on every workspace and pane, so you watch the agent's footprint grow as it works.

The PR in a pane

Open the branch's pull request beside your shell: readable diffs — unified or split — the conversation, and CI checks at a glance.

Editor

An IDE where the agent left off.

Editor

Fix what the agent missed, right there

A built-in editor with find & replace, go to line — and TypeScript autocomplete, go-to-definition and find-references straight from your project's own language server. Correct the line in place, no other window.

Linea's built-in editor with a TypeScript file open between the terminal and the file tree

Files

A file tree that follows the shell

The sidebar tracks each pane's working directory: cd anywhere and the tree is already there. Folder tabs per project, new files inline, and fuzzy Go-to-File across every worktree.

Linea's file sidebar showing the project tree for the shell's current directory

Syntax highlighting out of the box for TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Rust, Go, HTML, CSS, JSON, Markdown and Shell — and full language-server smarts for TypeScript projects, auto-detected. No extensions, no setup.

Install

One line. Any OS.

The installer reads the live release feed — always the current version, and the app keeps itself up to date afterwards.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Which AI tools work with Linea?

All of them. Linea is a real terminal with a real PTY — Claude Code, Codex, opencode, Grok, Gemini CLI, aider or whatever ships next week runs exactly as it does in any shell. No plugins, no wrappers, no waiting for an integration.

Does Linea charge for AI usage or route my tokens?

No. Linea bundles no model and adds no middleman: your agents talk directly to your own providers with your own subscriptions and keys. You pay Linea for the workspace, not for tokens.

Is it really zero configuration?

Yes. Syntax highlighting for the common languages ships built in, TypeScript projects get their own language server picked up automatically, and agent status hooks install with one click. No extensions, no dotfiles, no per-project setup.

Is this an Electron app?

No — there's no bundled Chromium. Linea is a hybrid-native app: the interface runs in your system's own webview, and the terminal itself is Ghostty's native engine drawing straight to Metal on macOS, WGL on Windows and GTK on Linux. Native where it matters, one codebase everywhere.

What exactly runs on Windows and Linux?

The same app. We embedded Ghostty's terminal core (libghostty-vt) under our own GPU renderers — as far as we know, the first app shipping Ghostty's engine on all three desktops from one codebase. Windows gets ConPTY with PowerShell 7 and the kitty keyboard protocol; Linux gets client-side decorations that follow your desktop's own button layout, PRIMARY selection and Wayland-safe rendering.

Is the Windows installer signed?

Not yet — SmartScreen may warn on first run (choose “More info → Run anyway”). Every release ships with its SHA-256 so you can verify what you downloaded, and updates are cryptographically signed end-to-end by the built-in updater.

Can I keep my shell and dotfiles?

Of course. Linea runs your shell — zsh, bash, fish — with your existing configuration. It replaces the window juggling, not your setup.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — one click in the Stripe customer portal, and the 14-day trial is the full product. You keep Pro until the end of the paid year. Your projects and files are never touched.

Code with AI. Stay in control.
